Topic 1

Energy Transition in the Building Sector

Energy efficiency in buildings is a cornerstone of the energy transition, playing a crucial role in reducing energy consumption, protecting the environment, and improving user comfort. Despite the vast potential for better performance, large-scale renovation continues to face technical, financial, and organizational barriers, as well as the need for more coordinated action among stakeholders.

The panel will explore systematic approaches to enhancing energy performance, the role of digital solutions in planning and building management, and examples of good practice showing how innovative and sustainable models can contribute to long-term benefits. The discussion aims to highlight both challenges and opportunities while pointing to practical solutions for the development of this sector.

Topic 2

Energy Transition in the Business Sector

Transforming the energy system within the industrial and business sectors is vital for boosting competitiveness, reducing costs, and achieving sustainable growth. Efficient energy management enables the optimization of production processes, lowers emissions, and strengthens market position, while digital technologies and smart systems are increasingly used to monitor and manage consumption in real time. At the same time, new regulations such as CBAM impose additional requirements on exporters and emphasize the importance of a strategic approach to energy efficiency.

The session will focus on practical ways to implement energy-efficient solutions, the role of digital and smart systems in process optimization, and the support mechanisms offered by chambers of commerce and other institutions. Participants will be encouraged to share experiences and explore ideas that can strengthen competitiveness and ensure long-term success for businesses.

Topic 3

Financial Instruments and Financing Models for Energy Efficiency in the Business and Building Sectors

Energy efficiency has become a decisive factor in sustainable development and competitiveness, yet many small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as building managers, still face the question of how to secure stable and affordable funding for improvement projects. Available instruments—ranging from grants and credit lines to guarantee schemes—can significantly accelerate investments and enable payback through achieved savings, while models such as ESCO contracts reduce financial risk for end users by transferring investments to specialized companies.

The panel will address how these instruments and models can be practically applied in Serbia and the region, the role of local governments and user associations in their development, and the availability of funding from both domestic and EU sources. By presenting both challenges and examples of successful practice, the session will provide a clear overview of opportunities and encourage broader adoption of financial solutions that benefit businesses, the public sector, and citizens alike.

Topic 4

Decarbonization and Sustainability – A Future Without Emissions

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and advancing sustainable development are among the defining challenges of today’s economy and society. Practical approaches to decarbonization allow companies and communities to lower their carbon footprint while strengthening resilience and long-term sustainability. The integration of ESG principles further contributes to building a stable and responsible business environment, while innovative, highly energy-efficient solutions drive technological progress and enable the green transition.

This discussion will center on different pathways to decarbonization—ranging from the experiences of public enterprises to the role of consultants and the application of advanced solutions in practice. By examining both barriers and opportunities, the panel will offer concrete guidance for adopting innovative and sustainable practices that enhance competitiveness and accelerate the green transition.
